Je vous présente un joli petit as de Marc Aurèle qui a très récemment rejoint ma collection.

Avers : M ANTONINVS - AVG TR P XXVI Buste de Marc Aurèle à droite, vu de trois quarts en arrière, avec cuirasse
Revers : IMP VI - COS III / Victoire marchant à gauche, tenant une palme

Est-ce que cet as avec ce buste est inédit?

RIC.1028, mais tête laurée à droite.

Yes, apparently an unpublished bust variety.

Another specimen from the same dies is in my collection, ex CNG E281, 2012, 337.

It seems that every time a member shows an unpublished coin, you also have a similar one in your own collection -- which must be fabulous!

I specialize in rare or unpublished types or varieties, mainly of the period Galba-Aemilian!

So if someone asks about an unpublished coin from this time period, there is a chance that I will have found a similar one for my own collection, or will have noticed a similar one offered online or in a catalogue, and written it into my set of BMC up to 238 AD, RIC for 238-253.
