| Upon further inspection of my coin under magnifying glass and reviewing the coins from your above links I come to the conclusion that there is no spearhead (pointe finale) on my coin so we should classify it as F2 bust, not F3 bust. I will appreciate if you adjust the description on Probuscoins.fr accordingly.
As for coin no. 1205 I would tend to describe it rather as F9 VAR. bust (not F2 VAR.) because the bust is clrealy cuirassed only, not additionally draped with paludamentum. Indeed there is a fold of aegis on the shoulder (hence the variation attribution). However such aegis fold is often found on cuirassed busts to right without any weapons (e.g. from Ticinum or Serdica) and we still classify those busts as "B", not "A" or "A" var. (in Bastien's bust classification) precisely because there is no paludamentum on them (despite the Aegis fold).
Anyway, you rightly pointed out that in reality the busts can be classified on many levels and if one chose to go into greater detail one could classify e.g. several different sub-types of B bust.
regards,
Barnaba | |

| Ok, merci Barnaba. |
